We've officially broken ground on our Suburban Chateau. Our first priority in preparing this site for ground-up construction was to remove the environmental elements that posed a threat to the future structure--in this case decaying trees looming over the property. Upon completion, we began digging out rocky ledge to create space for a new foundation and raising the rear slope of the property to make a flat, level back yard. Moving into the winter, we look forward to completing the foundation and beginning the next phase of ground-up construction: framing.
